The Jersey Access Group

Jersey Access Group

The Jersey Access Group (JAG) is a professional advisory organization that informs, educates, and recommends in the areas of technology, legislation, and regulation that shape and direct the use of multi-communication platforms for content creators and distributors on behalf of municipalities, educational institutions, and other public media facilities.

JAG promotes quality operations for New Jersey’s public, education, and government (PEG) television stations as an intricate part of local municipalities’ communication infrastructure, for the purpose of educating and informing the public about their communities via multiple distribution platforms. JAG maintains awareness, support, and responds as needed to any proposed changes in local, state, and federal communications laws, administrative rulings, judicial decisions, and technology issues impacting the interests of local governments.

The Jersey Access Group (JAG) was formed in March of 2000 by a small group of stations that saw a need for open communication between all the cable access stations in New Jersey. From its inception, it was clear that JAG would play a dominant role in the development of communication technology in New Jersey.

JAG is proud to also be recognized as the NJ Chapter of The National Association of Telecommunication Officers and Advisors (NATOA) and an affiliate member of the New Jersey League of Municipalities. JAG is the recipient of the 2013 President’s Award for NATOA Chapter Excellence.
